The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Maintainer Fitter / Machinist / Fitter & Turner to join the Fixed Plant Heavy Equipment Workshop Team maintaining infrastructure through repairing, machining and overhauling fixed plant equipment and associated components within the fixed plant area.

Located in the central Pilbara, Tom price is a family-friendly and modern fully-serviced town designed to complement the regions natural environment. It\u2018s known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a supermarket, primary and secondary schools, hospital and high standard of recreation and child care facilities. Regular in-town events and activities include the popular Mount Nameless Festival, drive-in cinemas, local fairs and team sport competitions; in addition to being home to one of the largest open cut mines in the world. It offers an ideal base to explore the natural wonders of the Karijini and Millstream Chichester National Parks or travel to beautiful coastal towns over a long weekend.

What the role entails

This residential role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual with excellent mechanical fitting and machining expertise to make a difference in the Tom Price Fixed Plant workshop.

Working a 6 days on, 6 off roster and reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Shutdowns, you will:

• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance for all equipment in the fixed plant area
• Conduct routine inspections of fixed plant assets and determine repair action when required
• Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with all RTIO Company Policies and procedures
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects - increasing safety whilst reducing risk & cost
• Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• A Fixed Plant Mechanical / Machinist / Fitter and Turner Trade qualification
• Previous experience in a Heavy Engineering / Machining workshop environment
• Excellent manual machining skills and diagnostic fault finding abilities
• Extensive experience machining damaged or worn mechanical components back to OEM specifications
• Sound knowledge of metal spray techniques and shaft repairs
• Extensive experience rebuilding and over hauling conveyor pulley\u2019s, Warman & high pressure pumps, industrial drive gearboxes and Gyrator crushers
• Basic understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar highly regarded
• Basic welding and oxy cutting experience preferred
• A Manual C Class Australian Drivers Licence essential
• Ability to work cooperatively in small team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptation to business requirements - E.g. Nightshift when required

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• High Risk Licences - Elevated Work Platform, Rigging or Dogging, Forklift, Confined Space, Working at Heights
• HR Drivers Licence highly desirable
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience desirable
