With a negotiated start date and based at St Peter's College, Adelaide in a full time capacity, you will lead programs that assist both St Peter's College and OEG realise the potential in shaping the character of students to test themselves as individuals and as part of a team. This is a leadership role which has the ultimate responsibility for the maintenance of an excellent partnership with all stakeholders in the School community while promoting and implementing the School based Exploration Society activities and Outdoor Education Programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head of Client Relationships, take responsibility for the performance, growth and reputation of The Outdoor Education Group within the scope of your role.
- Oversight and leadership of the Development, Marketing and implementation of appropriate outdoor education programs currently being offered as part of the St Peter's College curriculum.
- Working collaboratively with Program Coordinators and colleagues across OEG Directorates to manage and support daily operations.
- Effective communication of the benefits of outdoor education for the holistic development of young people.
- Effectively build relationships within the St Peter's College Community to ensure the successful delivery of programs and assist with specific school administrative tasks as determined by the client school.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Risk and Quality Assurance to determine compliance pre-program as well as post program feedback phase
- Leadership, training, coaching and mentoring of field staff.
- Support and actively demonstrate the values, objectives and strategic vision of The Outdoor Education Group.
Key Requirements
- Outstanding organisational and leadership capabilities, with experience in effectively instigating change
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, collaborating and managing a diverse range of teams
- Excellent public speaking skills
- A positive relationship builder who is able to sustain and maintain relationships with multiple levels of stakeholders to achieve set outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong understanding of the philosophy underpinning Outdoor Education and it's place in a School's curriculum
- Experience in educational programming, outdoor leadership or related disciplines.
- Ability to undertake some limited fieldwork attending some programs.
- A teaching qualification, with a method in outdoor education will be highly desirable
