The Department of Housing and Public Works are looking for a strategic leader to join the Senior Leadership team. Reporting to the CFO the Executive Director Commercial Financial Services will hold specific responsibility for the Commercial Business Unit which delivers critical services across two key functions. The Vision is to offer collaborated services in a manner that makes a difference to Queenslanders.

The Executive Director Commercial Financial Services will provide high level strategic advice and financial management services to the CFO for Asset Management Services and Fleet Management across the QLD Government. The role is initially a 12 month fixed term contract and the successful candidate will be adept at managing and influencing stakeholders and significant seniors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the resources available across the financial teams to deliver efficient financial services.
• Monitor and develop the annual budget and forward estimates process.
• Negotiate and influence other agencies in financial matters.
• Deliver strategic financial and operational advice to support business objectives including commercial pricing and policies.
• Develop analytics that allow clear and concise decision making.
• Manage the evaluation and risk assessment of the divisions long term financial position to ensure it delivers to departmental goals and plans.

Key Requirements

• CA or CPA Qualified
• A proven record of success and delivery in large and complex environments
• Strong communication skills
• Experience from both Government and Private sectors
• Skilled at managing and progressing change across a large organisation

The Executive Director Commercial Financial Services is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract initially. It is considered the successful candidate will be offered other opportunities across the department.
