This role is responsible for the day to day management of venue presentation, event set up/pull down, cleaning, and waste management services at an internationally recognised sports and entertainment venue, including the profitable management of all contractual obligations of the contractual relationship, enhancing, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with the client as well as growing the business at the venue.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Establishing and maintaining an excellent working relationship with the venue's management team.
- Providing direction, leading and managing the contractual activities for the venue in line with the company's mission and values.
- Developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of the venue presentation and cleaning business including the client's needs and expectations.
Venue Cleaning Management
- Ensuring that there is an up to date Venue Management Plan in place and that the venue is managed accordingly.
- Utilising the IICE Management System for the management of the venue, this includes planning, recording actuals and analysing performance.
- Ensuring the venue is presented in accordance with the quality standards and requirements of the contracted cleaning services.
- Oversee all rostering and manpower deployment in accordance with budgets and forecasts
- Overseeing the cleaning of all events and functions held at the venue.
Logistics and Supplies Management
- Maintaining adequate provisions and supplies as required to carry out the contracted services.
- Ensuring these supplies and consumables are properly and safely organised, stored and requisitioned.
- Ensuring that all the venue cleaning equipment, all plant and vehicles are properly maintained and kept in good working order.
- Ensuring that a register for all cleaning chemicals, equipment, vehicles and other assets is maintained.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the companies, providers of supplies and services.
- Follow company guidelines on sourcing of products and services
Risk Management & Compliance
- Undertaking risk and safety audits and ensuring that the safety and accident reporting requirements are adhered to.
- Establishing and implementing safe work practices that minimise accidents in the workplace
- Ensuring that the venue cleaning operations meet safety and all other statutory requirements.
Staff Management
- Recruiting venue staff in line with our policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ensuring all new employees undertake standard induction training program.
- Directing, motivating and managing all staff in line within our Code of Conduct.
- Ensuring the ongoing performance, development and training needs of all staff are effectively managed and provided for. This includes optimising the benefit of incentive schemes from time to time and ensuring that bi-annual performance reviews are conducted.
Fiscal Management
- Accept responsibility for the overall profitability of the contractual leaning activities for the venue. This includes the preparation of annual operational and capital budgets, reporting actual performance to budget and undertaking variance analysis \u2013 taking remedial action where necessary.
- Undertaking regular operational reviews and continuously improving the presentation of the venue through improving processes and systems, the use of supplies and equipment and the productivity of staff.
Management Reporting
- Communicating with the Client Relationship Manager on a regular basis to ensure he/she remains fully informed of all significant operating issues.
- Communicating regularly with the venue staff to ensure that they remain fully informed of all significant operating issues and that the activities between the company and all other groups at the venue are well coordinated.
- Preparing and submitting monthly Planning Report, maintaining a 60 days in advance manpower plan and forecast
- Ensuring timesheet records are prepared and recorded to enable employees to be paid correctly.
- Ensuring all other reporting requirements are met
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years' experience in cleaning management, a trade or facilities management role
- Minimum 8 years in facility presentation and/or event management services
- Excellent client service skills.
- Excellent organisational and resource management skills.
- Strong leadership and motivational ability.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Good Microsoft applications skills.
- Financial management/reporting and analysis skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
